Me Oh My, These Asian Chicken Meatballs Are A Vibe.
Told ya! Aren’t they something to look at?! I can’t stop staring. Anyways before I get into how these Asian Chicken Meatballs changed my life and will likely do the same to yours. We need to talk about my latest discovery.
Guys, I learned something big. I learned how to regrow green onions.
No that’s not a typo, while planning these Asian Chicken Meatballs, I realized I was almost out of green onions. THERE IS NOTHING WORSE than starting a recipe and then finding you are out of something you need. So while huffing and puffing because my green onions were almost to the root, Baylen tells me, “I actually just watched a video that showed me how to regrow green onions.” I looked at him and thought, “yea right.”
Let me tell you, you can! You can regrow green onions. Here it is: Take your left over green onion scraps fill up a clean glass with water, change the water every day so it doesn’t get slimy, and voilà! Watch your new babies grow. Within two days they were ready for these Asian Chicken Meatballs.
Okay, so about these Asian Chicken Meatballs…..
I honestly have never met anyone that does not like meatballs. But this is like a whole other meatball. Traditionally, when you hear meatball you think Italian, right?! Well these meatballs are so packed with flavor you are in for a meatbally treat.
Now one of the major things about meatballs in my humble opinion is that perfect ball. My easy, peasy trick is to use a cookie scoop to scoop your meatballs. Doing so not only gives a uniform shape, but a uniform size! Click the photo below to purchase the scoop I use from Amazon!

Asian Chicken Meatballs
YUM! That is the only way to describe these Asian Chicken Meatballs! Packed with flavor and ready to be a dinner fave! Get the recipe now!
- 1 pound Ground Chicken
- 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs (use Almond Flour if GF)
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp Ginger, minced
- 2 tsp Garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp Cilantro, chopped
- 2 tbsp Green Onion, chopped
- 1/2-1 tsp Salt
- Sesame Oil
- Hoisin Sauce:
- 2 tbsp Soy Sauce/Tamari
- 1 tsp Sesame Oil
- 1/2 tsp Minced Ginger
- 2 tbsp Rice Vinegar
- 1 tsp Ground Garlic
- 1/2 tsp Chili Paste
- 1/4 tsp Agave Nectar
- Optional Toppings: Sliced Green Onions and Sesame seeds
Preheat oven to 400 degrees
Line a cookie sheet with foil
Add all meatball ingredients into mixing bowl except for sesame oil
Using your hands, mix until evenly distributed
Using a cookie scoop scoop meatballs and form into perfect balls using hands
Bake on lined sheet for 25-30 minutes, feel free to flip meatballs half way through to brown both sides of the meatball
While the meatballs are cooking, add all of the hoisin sauce ingredients to a small bowl and use a whisk to combine
Add mixed ingredients to a sauce pan and heat until hot
Once Meatballs are done cooking, toss in heated sauce, serve with favorite sides (I loved mine on white rice)
Top with chopped green onion and sesame seeds
