This Acai Smoothie Bowl May or May Not Have Brought Me Back to Life
July 5th 2017 was an excellent reminder that I am not the young buck I once was. I woke up at 11:30, head pounding, and blurry memories of being more embarrassing than I already am on the daily. I also remember singing an array of music from ACDC to Gwen Stefani, so I guess you could say we really celebrated. This acai smoothie bowl was just what the doctor had ordered. It is packed with antioxidants and contains coconut water, making it an excellent choice if you are dehydrated. Which I definitely was. But hangover or not, I do really love having acai smoothie bowls on the regular. They are sweet, tart, creamy, and you can top them with whatever your heart desires.
I remember the first time I had an acai smoothie bowl from one of my favorite local health cafes. My thought was “What is this unicorn of a bowl?”. It just had so many of my favorite things in it, I HAD to make it at home. After some research, most people who made acai smoothie bowls used Sambazon, Which I have now been using ever since! You can buy Sambazon at most retailers, I get mine from Sprouts or even Costco. For toppings, I generally use anything that I can find lying around the house that I need to use up. Today I had left over granola and banana. Click for my easy Almond Granola Recipe.

Acai is said to be one of the greatest superfoods out there. It has so many awesome benefits. Health benefits include, improving cellular health, reducing inflammation, blocking free radicals, it has even been said that it has some anti-aging characteristics. So my advice is to whip up one of these Acai Smoothie Bowls and reap all the rewards.
